The down does not travel to the bottom of the bag because the mesh lining in the baffles prevents sliding of the down along the baffle channels. If you desire, you can manually adjust the down density up and down the bag by kneading the down insulation for personal comfort. This is a convenient solution if your feet are generally cold or you want more warmth around your core.
