Regarding fluffing up your the down sleeping bag, it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes of your time. First, pull your sleeping bag inside and out give your new down sleeping bag a good 5-minute shake. If you would like more loft, then run it in the dryer on NO heat for 5 minutes for the down to reach its fully uncompressed state. You can also throw in a few tennis balls into the dryer to help the lofting process. Lastly, check over the bag for any clumps of down and gently knead them out with your hands. You can place the back in the dryer again for further lofting or if you are satisfied, then prepare your sleeping bag for storage. Store your down bag uncompressed in a cool, dry place. Spread it out under your bed, hang it in a closet, or put it in a big, breathable storage bag (like a laundry bag or a king-size pillowcase). Proper storage will maintain the insulating abilities of the down and keep you warmer on your next adventure!
